About me

In 2004 I moved from Wolfsburg in Germany to the Netherlands, where I worked as a teacher for more than 20 years.

As a cycling enthusiast, I tried to photograph riders from 2008 on. In the beginning the major objective was to get them on the photo in the first place, but as I got more experienced to goalposts moved on:
The riders needed to be sharp and the picture needed to show a rather spectacular situation.

After having sparred with cycling-photographer and now deceased Mani Wollner I slowly developed my own style; very dynamic photos with loads of motion blur in all the right places.

In 2016 I fulfilled a childhood dream: Visiting the Olympic Games. After having been to Rio for two weeks I caught the travel bug and started enjoying to plan trips. Since then I have been abroad many times to explore and take photos of nature and architecture.

My works have won some small awards
and "Stybi on fire" has been displayed in 2023 in the Nederlands Fotomuseum in Rotterdam for five months. In 2024 I founded my company as a photographer in the Netherlands.

After a divorce I moved back to Germany in 2026. Here I keep working as a cycling journalist, which I have been doing for radsport-news.com and Eurosport since 2020.
